BigCommerce is a solid alternative to Magento 2 if your business plan migration out of Magento 1. It has similar with Magento core functionality and good number of the extensions. Free data migration tool that BigCommerce provides makes Magento 1 to BigCommerce migration easier for smaller businesses with up to 10,000 products. It saves our clients thousands of dollars.
The beauty of BigCommerce (comparing with self-hosted platform like Magento) that an online store there requires minimal technical support. BigCommerce itself takes care of that. We are quite flexible with our methodology and can work on classic waterfall and agile depending on what the client preference. The priority is to deliver substantial value and have a transparent and predictable process.
We practice both time & material based and fixed pricing. Fixed pricing is possible when the requirements are clear and detailed. When required we may help the client to document them at scoping stage. For the clients who value flexibility or when it is impossible to clearly set the scope time and material arrangements make sense.

Lightning Ridge Opal Mines: It is an iconic Melbourne store selling opals. We have migrated them from Magento 1. A killer feature for this project was Magento 1 to BigCommerce data migration tool that helped to move product and customer data quickly and efficiently. What also pleasantly surprised us is that after migration the store received good boost in website speed, which helped with getting better SEO.
Melbourne Wine House: It is our latest project, also a migration from Magento 1 to BigCommerce. This is a more complex case with more complex product database and higher load. The most important BigCommerce functionality used were flexible product data structure, data importing tools and faceted search. We have also utilized a wider BigCommerce ecosystem, using such partners as ShipperHQ for shipment costs calculation and Searchanise for better site search.
