Heartfelt Choices: From Compliance to Commerce
One piece of advice I wish I hadn’t followed is to seize every opportunity that comes along. At one point, I led IT security and compliance successfully for a large global retailer. Everyone told me I was so great therefore was on track to be a Chief Compliance Officer. Unfortunately, compliance did not fuel my passion. I ended up moving horizontally into an Ecommerce start - up role as head of marketing and operations. This became the foundation of my focus in omni channel retail and digital transformation. The lesson is: follow your heart and keep doing work that motivates you.
