Recharging the Mind: The Power of Personal Pursuits

Outside of the office, I play competitive tennis. Beyond relieving the stress of day-to-day business, tennis has taught me the importance of focusing on the process and not being fixated on outcomes. In sports, just like in life, you must love the daily grind to achieve the results you’re seeking. Success in anything requires long-term discipline. For every hour of match play, I put in 40 hours of practice. I also engage coaches, who teach me to be unbothered by what others think, stay in the moment, and increase mindfulness. I have found that sports are life in a microcosm. The practices that lead to my success in tennis are analogous to those in my business life.
