After looking at the market and not finding what they wanted, Carters’, the purveyor of children’s clothing with over 1,000 stores, has built and is deployed a bespoke Point of Sale (POS) solution on AWS. The replacement of their existing solution has reduced checkout times and is improving customer satisfaction scores. “We’re seeing 30% faster speed of checkout,” Ben Pivar, Senior VP and CIO at Carter’s remarked during his Big Ideas session with AWS’s Justin Honaman. The solution also enables an improved omnichannel experience leveraging technologies like personalization and RFID. In addition, by migrating its data and analytics to AWS, Carter’s was able to automate interactive, custom dashboards and are now able to curate insights and get more advanced analytics across the organization.
